Unlike other major American cities, there is no train or metro subway system in Honolulu. The main mode of public transportation is the bus system run by Oahu’s city transportation known locally as “The Bus” (which consists of 110 routes). Here are the fares (with transfers for up to two connections allowed):
– Adult: $2.50
– Youth (ages 6 – 19 years): $1.25
– Senior: $1.00
– Children ages 5 and under ride free (must be accompanied with a fare-paying passenger).
